MEET JEREMY BARKEY
Jeremy Barkey is an experienced multi-organizational leader who specializes in forming winning cultures through building teams, mentoring leaders, and inspiring & equipping individuals to reach their best versions.
As a graduate of Michigan State University, where he also played football as a walk-on Quarterback for Nick Saban and Bobby Williams, Jeremy began his career as a high school Social Studies Teacher and Coach (Football & Basketball). During this time, Jeremy continued his education through the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a master’s degree in organizational leadership. His education journey eventually led him to serve as Athletic Director at Skyline High School, in Ann Arbor, MI.
After serving Skyline’s 32 Varsity sports programs for 3 years, Jeremy accepted an offer to lead the Human Resources teams for CSIG Holding Co. of Brighton, MI. Eventually Jeremy was promoted to lead their StoryPoint Senior Living Business in the capacity of VP of Experience where he guided all aspects of the operation from Leader Selection & Development to Profit & Loss process implementations during a time where significant growth for the company and it’s mission was achieved.
It was through these experiences that Jeremy decided to found Captain’s Light Consulting to share his lessons in life, leadership, and team to a broader audience that includes all stages and audiences from his leadership journey. Most recently, Jeremy became a Certified Wooden Way Coach (John Wooden, UCLA basketball 1948-1975) whose principles are noticeably present in his approach to guiding teams, leaders, and cultures. Today, Jeremy lives in Zeeland, MI with his wife Samantha and their children Isabella, Landon, and Ellie.
